"The very man who has argued you down, will sometimes be found, years later, to have been influenced by what you said”

  • Vision and Direction

A lot of requirements to accomplish and grade targets to hit. Perhaps I just have to remind myself I have a vision to materialize and the direction to do it. Pushing harder

  • From Russia with Love

    Anna Chapman

Does she even look like a spy to you? Anna Chapman on the picture. Typical New York socialite to all but busted by the FBI yesterday on spying related charges. Apparently, Anna went to the United States to pose as a rich heir to penetrate New York’s elite social circles in behalf of the Russian Government. Oh Russian love.

  • Diplomacy

A while ago I fell victim of an information misencounter. The result was me being indirectly told of not being a team player. The repurcussions of a direct confrontation to refute he acusation outweighs the benefit it will bring, despite the fact that my compelling side could win the argument.

I’m training as an economist and I will agree that no economist would agree that my actions were the most prudent one. But when heirarchy dictates that questioning your superiors is more or less questioning his authority, the strategic repurcissions of my decision will outwieigh the short term losses Im enduring.

Dialogue, in some cases, is so delicate to utilize in conflict resolution that sealing your peace is best practiced.

  • KLIA

One problem with budget airlines like jetstar is that airline counters are not open for early check-ins. With bags full and heavy and the airport an hour away from the central business and shopping district, travelling in even light business attire, a dress shirt and a light suit, in 66% humidity isn’t really a good idea. Pity my choice of clothing.

With boredom at my side and retail therapy’s potency fading away, All I could do is sit down and wait for my airline counter to open.

  • Dow Melts Like Ice Cream

A 1000 basis point drop in a single trading day. Possible? Yes.

This was the case of an incident at the Dow yesterday, wherein a trader allegedly filed a 16 billion futures contracts sell order instead of 16 million. 16 billion contracts might not be enough to corner the market but it definitely is adequate to make automated trading systems follow suit.

Would the incident still happen if futures contracts were still being traded in the pit? I don’t think so.
